Which is located in the eastern part of Nepal near the third highest peak of the world Mt. Kanchenjunga 8586m.

Bokta Peak Climbing with Kanchenjunga is a remote mountain trail ideal for trekkers who enjoy the solitude. It is also an opportunity to reach the base camp of the world’s third tallest mountain.

Located in the far north-eastern corner of Nepal, Mt. Kanchenjunga is considered to be one of the most beautiful mountain massifs, scaling 8,586m. Kanchenjunga Park itself is a wilderness virtually untouched by time and tourism, perfect for the adventurous trekker looking for something unique.

The trek heads through diverse land topography, forests and villages. You’ll see central, south and north Kanchenjunga, as well as Yalungkang, Mt. Jannu, Makalu, Lhotse and Mt. Everest on the way to Selela Pass. Keep your eyes open and you might see snow leopards, mask deer and several species of birds, along with the country’s most pristine oak and rhododendron forests.

After trekking through the forested area, the trail winds into higher and harsher terrain. Cross the Mirgin-La pass at 4725 meters and enjoy the views of Makalu, Chamlang and Everest. Next you will pass the glacier, and finally you are rewarded with an incredible, close-up view of Kanchenjunga peak as you approach the Kanchenjunga base camp at Pang Pema.

Day 1
KATHMANDU – BHADRAPUR

Today is our first day towards this Bokta peak climbing trek where we will tatke a Flight to Bhadrapur from Kathmandu after our breakfast and drive to Illam afterwards. We will have our lunch in the beautiful illam which is the most popular place for local tea gardens and merchandises, we will stay Overnight at Illam.

Day 2
ILLAM – TAPLEJUNG

We will start our day off driving from the illam to Taplejung, which will take approx 7 to 8 hours. we will see the beautiful natural scenes along the way with rhododendrons,flora and fauna,tea gardens,greenery filled with joy and happiness.

Overnight stay in Taplejung.

Day 3
TAPLEJUNG – THIWA

Today we will pass through the green forest along the way with beautiful natural flora and fauna, we continue our trek until we reach the Chiruwa.

Trek to Chiruwa and stay overnight

Day 4
CHIRUWA – JAPANTAR

We will start our trek to Japantar on this morning where we will encounter many natural greenery and flowers with beautiful local people and their living habitat's.

Overnight at Jaubari tea house

Day 5
JAUBARI – GYABLA

Today we will resume our trek to Gybla from Jaubari, we will encounter many forest of pine tree and bamboos along the way with local culture and traditions.

Overnight in Gyabla.

Day 6
GYABLA – GHUNSA

we will trek to Ghunsa on this day, overnight in Ghunsa.

Day 7
Rest Day

Today we will take a rest and explore the Ghunsa.

Day 8
GHUNSA – KHABACHEN

From Ghunsa, we trek further north along the river bank which presents us with magnificent mountain scenery. We pass through meadows filled with beautiful wildflowers, then cross rhododendron and pine forests. We cross a bridge at Rampuk Kharka, continue past a waterfall and cross the tricky section of a landslide. After crossing the landslide area we begin to see the spectacular view of Mt. Jannu. Further exploring and tackling the tricky mountain trail we finally arrive at Kambachen and spend the night.

Day 9
KHABACHEN – LHONAK

Today will be another challenging day and an early start is needed. We trek through rocky fields and large boulders on the hillside along the riverbank and arrive at a waterfall. We then cross a bridge to Ramtang monastery. We then come across a landslide section which we must pass through at a steady pace before descending to the river and finally arriving at Lhonak. Overnight in Lhonak.

Day 10
LHONAK – PANGPEMA

From Lhonak, we trek towards the Kanchenjunga Base Camp. Our trail is alongside the gigantic Kanchenjunga Glacier. After passing Pangpema we descend towards the Kanchenjunga Base Camp. The view from the base camp is extraordinary. Mt. Kanchenjunga, Jannu Himal and other Himalayan peaks are ours to admire. We descend back to Pangpema to spend the night.

Day 11
PANGPEMA – KHABACHEN

From Pangpema we trace back our steps to Khabachen. Overnight in Khabachen.

Day 12
KHABACHEN – GHUNSA

From Khabachen, we descend all the way to Ghunsa via Kambache. It is the same route we took when we were climbing up.

Day 13
GHUNSA – YAKKHARKA

Today we will trek to Yakkharka, overnight stay in tented Camp.

Day 14
YAKKHARKA – BOKTA BASECAMP

Today we will trek to Bokta Base camp and Ovenight on tented camp

Day 15
SUMMIT DAY 6114M

Today we will Summit the Bokta peak and back to Bokta basecamp.

Day 16
BOKTA BASECAMP – RAMCHE

Today we will Trek via Lapsang La Pass. Overnight at teahouse in Ramche

Day 17
RAMCHE – YALUNG BASECAMP

From Ramche, we walk further up the valley. We then follow a stream before climbing on the moraine top until confronted by Kanchenjunga’s southern face. We walk further ahead for a glimpse of the Jannu Himal. We continue our trek further towards the Oktang Monastery. From here, we climb further up and reach the Yalung Base Camp. The views from the base camp are extraordinary. Kumbakarna (Jannu), Nyukla Lachung and other Himalayan peaks are close by. We descend and spend the night at Cheram.

Day 18
RAMCHE – TORTONG

We begin our steady climb to Cheram after breakfast. Our trail is right at the side of the Simbuwa Khola. We enjoy walking on the beautiful Lalung valley and have Tuplung peak for company for the most part of today’s journey. We pass through thick rhododendron forest and enjoy the magnificence of the Yalung Glacier. Overnight in Tortong.

Day 19
TORTONG – YAMPHUDIN

We begin our walk on a path commonly used by the villagers and pass through terraced farms and green meadows. Along the way, we have the constant company of the Himalayas to enjoy. Our walk will be on a trail along the Amji Khola. Overnight in Yamphudin.

Day 20
YAMPHUDIN – KHEBANG

Today we will trek to Khebang.

Overnight in Khebang.

Day 21
KHEBANG – SIBUDIN

Drive to Illam from Sibudin and stay overnight

Day 22
ILLAM – KATHMANDU

Drive to Bhadrapur and Fly to Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu
